The ill-treated orphan trope is such a well-worn dramatic device. However, in JK Rowlings hands, it works. But what if the Dursleys had been kinder to Harry?
Of course if we just stick to literary interpretation, there are certain consequences that would have affected the story if the author had made a different decision regarding Harry’s muggle relatives.
